Description
The Berlin Wall is a soil retaining system designed to ensure the stability of excavations in soils with little cohesion or in unstable conditions.
This method combines the strength of vertical metal profiles with the flexibility of wooden planks or prefabricated elements, efficiently adapting to various construction needs.
Its implementation is fast, economical and safe, making it an ideal solution for small and medium-sized projects, especially in fine, sandy soils or where stability is a challenge.
It consists of inserting metal profiles, usually I, H or W, into the ground, between which wooden planks are placed. The stability of the assembly is achieved by adding anchors, bolts or struts.
Normally the anchors are supported on horizontal perimeter beams that distribute the loads among the profiles, alternatively a double profile system can be used and the anchors installed without a horizontal tie beam.
This technology is a very safe and economical temporary containment solution for small to medium-sized projects in sand or fine soils.
